Spin-Off Goals: Should ‘Agents of SHIELD’ season 3 lead to more for Chloe Bennet’s Daisy?

There have been many awesome things about the third season of Marvel’s “Agents of SHIELD,” but let’s be real here: The presence of the Inhumans has made almost everything even more entertaining that it would be otherwise. They’ve added more dimension and intrigue; characters like Lash and even Chloe Bennet’s own Daisy Johnson were hard to envision back when she was known as Skye.

We know that we are potentially getting a spin-off of this show for next season entitled “Marvel’s Most Wanted” with Bobbi Morse (Adrianne Palicki) and Lance Hunter (Nick Blood), but is there something to be said for a show about Daisy and some of the Secret Warriors? That’s something that we’re thrilled to investigate in this latest chapter of our Spin-Off Goals article series.

Why Daisy? – For one, she’s incredibly popular, and she’s already being set up to embark on some very specific missions with the powers she’s been nurturing and developing over time. She’s a very smart, resourceful person, and we’re starting to see with Lincoln that she is recruiting some people to be a part of her team. We’re not sure you can remove many other people from the core cast (other than the ones mentioned) who would give a spin-off such a clear identity.

The idea – This is as simple as sending off Daisy with her own team (there are still a ton of Secret Warriors characters who are not on the show as of yet), and then letting her battle some of the forces of evil that are out there. It’s a good idea for more of a big-budget “Legends of Tomorrow,” or a TV version of “The Avengers” featuring people with a wide array of different powers. This allows the Secret Warriors to be more of the supernatural arm of the “Agents of SHIELD” politics, with the flagship show staying a little more grounded and political.

Could this actually happen? – It’d be pretty awesome if it did, but with Marvel already developing an Inhumans movie, we doubt it. We feel like they will be very happy for now to just keep “Agents of SHIELD” the home of Daisy for now, and maybe there is something more for her to do down the road in the film world. After all, they had a golden opportunity to greenlight a “Secret Warriors” show this season, but opted instead to go with “Most Wanted.” In Marvel we trust … at least for now.
