‘The Bachelor at 20’ spoilers: Jade Roper, Tanner Tolbert’s wedding and more

There are some things that we really don’t understand about the way in which ABC is promoting their upcoming special “The Bachelor at 20,” and one thing definitely tops the list above all others: Why in the world the show is promoting a wedding as though it’s a surprise?

When it comes to “The Bachelor” itself, it’s understandable that the show wants to keep some element of mystery in terms of who is getting the roses, where the contestants are going, and so on. There are things that are not meant to be spoiled, even though the reality is that they are time and time again almost every season. The difference here is that it was widely reported already that Jade Roper and Tanner Tolbert were married recently in Dana Point, so it’s not much of a spoiler that this is happening. Many “Bachelor” alumni were there, and it was a happy occasion seemingly for all. Chris Harrison (of course) was the officiant for the big occasion.

As for some other big moments you can expect to see from the special, ABC is promising some highlights from many of the past seasons of the franchise, coupled with some never-before-seen footage and also one of the biggest reunions ever featuring former contestants. It’s a show that has spawned some successful relationships, even though you could argue that it really has not lived up to its billing over the years as the sort of show that provides happy endings on a regular basis. As a matter of fact, the show really had a reputation for struggling with this in the early years.
