‘The Price is Right’ heading to primetime with ‘Amazing Race,’ ‘Survivor,’ ‘Big Brother’ stars
Who doesn’t want to play “The Price is Right“? It’s one of those shows on TV that is pure fun, and it also happens to be one that is perfect if you’re just looking to kill a little bit of time. It’s been a daytime institution for decades, but the news we’ve got today is especially cool: We’re going to be seeing the big wheel, the games, and host Drew Carey in primetime sooner rather than later. Not only that, but the show will be heading there with some reality stars, to boot!
CBS has ordered three specials set for primetime later this year, which will feature contestants from “The Amazing Race,” “Survivor,” and “Big Brother” competing for prizes and other great stuff within the famous studio walls. Phil Keoghan, Jeff Probst and Julie Chen are also going to be stopping by to make appearances at some point. (If an “Amazing Race” team is too slow getting up on the stage to play a game, will Phil try to eliminate them?)
We love this idea for so many different reasons.
1. We love game shows as a former “Who Wants to Be a Millionaire” contestant / guy who spun the big wheel backstage during “Beauty and the Geek” filming, so any chance to see more in primetime is something we’re going to celebrate.
2. We love all three of the shows mentioned, and are already speculating as to who we’d love to see make appearances.
3. Finally, we see this as a nice sign that CBS still loves “The Amazing Race,” even though the ratings at this point are not great and it doesn’t have us that optimistic for the show’s future.
