‘Elementary’ season 4, episode 13 preview: Richard Kind guest stars!
Richard Kind has to be one of our favorite character actors of the past couple of decades. We loved him in “Spin City,” enjoyed his recent turn as the Mayor on “Gotham,” and of course he voiced Bing Bong, arguably one of the greatest Pixar characters in the history of the company in “Inside Out.”
Next week, we’re going to get a chance to see Kind aboard “Elementary” in a role that seems to be very much perfect for the show’s world: A neighbor who is incredibly uncomfortable living next door to Holmes and Watson with all of their assorted quirks. As he perfectly puts it, he has to deal with everything from bees to constant interruptions to bizarre characters. Who can blame the game if he wants to start to turn his place into almost a bed-and-breakfast for people looking to party?
“A Study in Charlotte” is the title for the next new episode, and you can see the synopsis below:
“Sherlock and Joan search for a murderer who used poisonous mushrooms to kill a botany professor and a group of the instructor’s students. Also, when Joan is disturbed by loud noise next door, she discovers her neighbor, Trent (Richard Kind), is renting out his home through a vacation site that caters to hard partiers.”
We would like to imagine that there is a further role in here for Kind, but CBS isn’t going to tell us what that is for the time being. Why spoil a potential twist if there is one? Maybe we’re just setting up for another appearance from him down the line.
