‘Scorpion’ season 2, episode 16 review: Toby, Walter, Happy, and an earthquake
Monday night’s new episode of “Scorpion” had humble beginnings, mostly in that the hour began with Walter and Toby having what ended up being a heated argument over coffee creamer. From here, the two had to take the time to work as a deal, enter couples counseling, work with Penn Jillette, and then also save a city that was reeling from a pretty massive earthquake.
“Fractured” was a fun episode of the show, largely because of the fact that so many people all had a chance to have their individual moment in the limelight. Ralph got to exhibit great courage and skill, enough so that Paige realized it was okay to let him go on a trip with his college classmates and Sylvester nearby. Meanwhile, Paige showed yet again how she has valuable skills that nobody else on the team does, and was able to be of service to some people in need after the quake. Happy showed the power of super-quick geometry, and we saw Cabe become an awesome weapons specialist.
The icing on the cake for many, though, was not seeing the Walter – Toby heart-to-heart at the end of the episode that showed that they may be starting to get in better standing with one another. Instead, it was seeing Happy at Toby’s apartment! It’s all happening, people; now, we’re just waiting for Walter and Paige to finally get together, which the show is probably going to drag out as long as humanly possible and with little of a reason to do so.
We’re not going to air our grievances too much on Walter / Paige in this article, mostly because we don’t want to take away from the greatness that was here … and there was a lot of it. This episode had almost everything that a “Scorpion” fan could want in an episode, from romance to action to arguments over complete nonsense. Grade: A-.
