‘The Walking Dead’ season 6 spoilers: Andrew Lincoln explains Alexandria decision

Rick -It’s been a fairly long hiatus, but for all fans of “The Walking Dead,” we have great news on the horizon: New episodes. It’s a chance to see the aftermath of the walker attack on Alexandria, and also to determine whether or not the community can prepare for the onslaught of several new threats, with the eventual Big Bad being Negan, who is set to turn up at the end of the season for the first time (and played by Jeffrey Dean Morgan).

So why opt to stay at this community, which is seemingly going to hell in a handbasket, versus striking out and trying something new? It’s certainly a great question, and it is something that star Andrew Lincoln explains further in a new interview with Entertainment Weekly:

“[We stay] because it is a functioning community and it was functioning perfectly well until we showed up, which is generally the way. It’s secure. We have the capability of growing things. And we don’t have any other options. There is that. But also, there are substantial houses that work. We have solar panels and electricity and there are certain things that are the beginnings of a civilization, so it would be strange for us to look for somewhere else because I’m not sure if there would be anything as contained and secure and environmentally sound.”

We suppose that it’s possible in theory the group eventually considers other options, but Lincoln’s right: Provided that the crew can figure out a way to secure the community once more, why in the world would you want to look at other places? Alexandria has everything that you could possibly want, and there’s a chance you can improve it to be even more of a functional home.
