2016 Super Bowl Commercials: Jeff Goldblum, Lil Wayne team up for Apartments.com

There are a wide array of different strategies that you can use for a Super Bowl Commercial, but for Apartments.com, one of their personal favorite go-tos is bringing in Jeff Goldblum. He’s one of the best performers you’re going to find, and he brings a certain charm to everything that he does.

So what happens when he joins forces with Lil Wayne? Well, you get a particularly memorable Super Bowl ad. You can watch it below, and we’ll have our full take on it online shortly. Let’s just say that for the most part, our take is positive.

The idea – Goldblum takes a look at the wide array of quirky characters that live within a complex, and that includes the famous rapper.

What works – The music is great, Goldblum is perfect, and we think that Lil Wayne has the perfect personality and energy for the commercial. He’s such an unexpected inclusion to the ad, and we cannot help but appreciate the turn he brings to the end of the spot.

What doesn’t – Was it extremely memorable beyond the cameos? That’s a good question. We really enjoyed this, but at the same time we also do suspect that there are some people who will go back, watch it again, and not appreciate it as much knowing what is taking place.

Our grade – B. It’s a worthwhile spot for Apartments.com, but we also cannot pretend that this is the best ad of the year. Aside from the star power, there is not a whole lot here that stands out.
