Puppy Bowl XII: Go behind the scenes for Sunday’s big broadcast
Sunday night is obviously going to be a very popular time because of Super Bowl 50, but as any longtime reader of CarterMatt knows, there’s much more than that happening across TV. Why watch relentless pregame coverage when you can tune in to the Puppy Bowl instead?
In many ways, it’s almost ridiculous how popular this “event” has become, given that we are basically going to be spending a significant chunk of time watching cute puppies wander around. It’s almost the TV version of a standard YouTube video stretched out for a long period of time. The behind-the-scenes video below is more or less just watching puppies wander around for an extended stretch of time, but we go ahead and dare you to stop watching it at any point. We imagine that it will be a heck of a lot harder for you than you imagine.
We expect the Puppy Bowl to be one of the top-rated events on TV Sunday other than the game, mostly because it has shown to be just this time and time again. It’s perfect counter-programming, and it’s also a good cause that helps promote animal adoption.
Just for fun, we’ve included a bonus video in here featuring a dog who was first featured on the Puppy Bowl more than a decade ago. Sure, the narration is super-cheesy, but it’s nice to sort of reflect on what the event once was, which was somehow even more low-budget and silly than it is now … and that is saying something when you consider the amount of time we just spent writing about it. (We’ll be spending more time later this weekend.)
