‘Poldark’ season 2 notes: Sinkholes and behind-the-scenes snaps

PoldarkWe adore “Poldark” as a work of television. Unfortunately, circumstances render it almost impossible to have a whole lot of news on it to report at the moment. The series is still filming in Cornwall for its upcoming second season premiering this summer, and it’s not like the BBC to give information away on one of their shows so long before it coming to air.

With that in mind, allow us to embark in our latest edition of show “notes,” where we give you a sampling of news that is happening all around the show community … beginning with a sinkhole.

This changes things – Per the Telegraph, a rather-massive sinkhole recently opened near the Botallack Mine in St. Just. This is one of the locations used for the series, but we’re not entirely sure just how closely the camera ever focused on this particular patch. Nobody was hurt, and filming will continue as planned. We just find sinkholes to be fascinating and strange, especially when they happen in places like the Cornwall rolling hills, which are so beautiful as-is.

New behind-the-scenes images – These come courtesy of the show’s Twitter, which has been a tremendous source of updates throughout most of the filming process. Without them, we wouldn’t get to see so many amazing costumes on a regular basis! Also, the letter with George gives you at least one interesting question to wrap your head around, or at least it does if you’re a new viewer to the series and have little outside knowledge going in.
