‘Pretty Little Liars’ season 6, episode 14 review: Creepy masks, more hookups, and Sara speculation
So far, the second half of “Pretty Little Liars” season 6 has been complicated. We’ve had to get accustomed to many new faces, some of which we’re still not sure of. For example, are we supposed to either like or care about Hanna’s new guy Jordan? Please let us know, since we’re having a really hard time figuring that out.
What we do know is that Spencer and Caleb’s relationship is definitely progressing quickly, Aria’s father has found a way to get himself tied into everything, and at the moment, Sara Harvey is the lead suspect behind all of the texts. Let’s go back for a minute to Byron, though, who made it clear in a message to Ezra that he doesn’t want to see Charlotte walking around town anymore. Also, we’ve got the mystery of the gold club.
Byron’s an interesting suspect / player in all of this, given that he does actually have a motive for wanting to get rid of Charlotte that makes sense. Parents will do almost everything that they can in an effort to help their children, and if he thought Aria was in danger, he’d act on him. Still, we don’t think Byron’s the guy. Can he be a tool sometimes? Sure, but we wouldn’t call him a murderer in the slightest. The same goes for Ezra, who seems too depressed to know where he is much of the time.
Overall, the biggest problem with season 6B is simply that we anticipated things moving a little bit faster, and feeling a little different now that we’re five years into the future. However, that’s really not the same. While we may have different romantic pairings and a new villain, it feels like we’re dealing with the same thing all over again. Grade: B-.
