Is ‘Scorpion’ season 2, episode 16 new tonight? New ‘Fractured’ photo
There’s some bad news coming in for fans of “Scorpion” Monday night: There’s not another new episode coming on CBS.
What’s the reasoning for it? We would probably attribute it first and foremost to the fact that there are only so many episodes in a season, and the network wants to save some good stuff for later. Another reason may have to do with the Iowa caucuses. Sure, only people in Iowa are actually going out to vote, but at the same exact time many people will probably be checking out CNN, Fox News, or MSNBC most of the night to check in on everything that is going on there … at least when the show is airing in the Eastern and Central time zones. Networks like to avoid any potential competition that they can, and this may be reason enough to keep the series off the air for this week.
As for why “Supergirl” is still airing a new episode tonight given what we just said, the two answers we can give you are that it needs to catch up a little in episode count, and that the results of the caucuses may not be as clear at the time in which it is airing.
When the show does return in one week’s time, it will be doing so with an installment entitled “Fractured” that is all about trying to answer one question: Can Team Scorpion prevent a disaster following a massive earthquake? It’s the sort of story that is reasonably believable, especially when you consider the fact that we’re talking about California here. The photo above is hardly revealing, but it’s proof that Walter O’Brien is going to be working around the clock.
