‘The Good Wife’ season 7, episode 13 review: Did Alicia forgive Eli?
Sunday night’s new episode of “The Good Wife” was at times emotional, and also at times devastating for the Alicia Florrick character.
In terms of everything that happened within the courtroom, her attempt to fight a judge in court ended up leading to a real catastrophe for her, as her and Lucca Quinn were eventually sued and put in a very complicated situation. All of a sudden, she found herself short on money and reputation, especially after Peter ended up losing the election.
As a result of everything that happened, maybe Alicia realized that this was her time to make a move … one back to work with Diane and Cary. We imagine Lucca is coming with her, and they can start to plan for a future once more and not have the same lack of support that they had working at a firm out of their house.
What may make this new job change a little more complicated is the timing of it all. What does this hire mean for her new relationship with Jason Crouse? Is this a good thing or a bad thing for him to be close to her there? He is a complicated man, and there may not be an easy answer to this question.
Also worth noting about this episode is that after a few episodes, Alicia has finally opted to forgive Eli over what happened … which is nice, since it does seem like it is about time. What he did was almost unforgivable, but this is one of the few times in the entire series that we’ve seen him show this level of genuine remorse. It’s fascinating for the character, and with these threads tied up we are certainly now in a very interesting place. Episode Grade: B+.
