‘Downton Abbey’ season 6, episode 6 (PBS): Michelle Dockery – Laura Carmichael developments
Tonight, “Downton Abbey” had a variety of interesting developments for several characters … but also one of the most violent moments in quite some time courtesy of what happened to Robert. His medical event is something that will probably be discussed by many fans for some time moving forward.
Next week, though, is going to be a key storyline revolving around Edith and Mary moving forward with their lives, in particular when it comes to some men who are clearly showing some feelings for them. Edith and Bertie are growing closer, and while Mary does have feelings for Henry Talbot, there is still an insecurity that she is wrestling with. Let’s just say that as a whole, this is going to come to a head by the time we make it to the end of the episode.
Meanwhile, the synopsis below teases that in the wake of Robert’s accident, there will be drama surrounding the hospital than ever before:
“As the hospital battles reach a fever pitch, Violet goes on the warpath. Daisy attempts to foil a blossoming romance, and things begin to look up for the Crawley sisters.”
Obviously, we will close this article off with a simple reminder that even though next week is Super Bowl Sunday, this is not causing PBS to change their mind in regards to airing the episode. This has always been perfect counter-programming for the big game, but unfortunately this will be the last year that the network will be able to pull this off.
