‘Suits’ season 5 spoilers: Will Rachel, Jessica, others continue to take Mike Ross’ side?

So far on “Suits” season 5, we have certainly seen many different reactions to the arrest of Mike Ross, but for the most part, we’d still say that the actions of many have be motivated by a desire to ensure that they don’t do anything to hurt his case. Everyone at the firm wants to see him out of jail; he’s proven himself to be valuable, even though at the same time he does not technically possess the qualifications needed to be an attorney.

Is this same sort of sentiment going to continue moving forward? Let’s just say that it is complicated. As executive producer Aaron Korsh tells TV Guide in a new interview, we’re going to see some of these people tow the line between trying to help him, but also trying to ensure that they keep their own careers together:

“Rachel obviously loves Mike but isn’t in a power position like Jessica, who has her career and firm on the line. … They all care about Mike and themselves, and you’ll see some of them do things to protect themselves but not in a way to betray him.”

Ultimately, we wouldn’t be surprised if someone like Jessica has to turn her back on Mike, even if she doesn’t really want to. She’s worked extremely hard for her career (everyone at the firm has), and it wouldn’t make us hate the character if she keeps herself safe. After all, this was clearly a situation where Mike knew that he was in the wrong the entirety of the time he was committing his actions.
