‘Arrow’ season 4 spoilers: David Ramsey teases eventual connections to Shadowspire, Baron Reiter

Diggle

Was it fate that Oliver Queen and John Diggle would be eventually working together within the world of “Arrow“? We don’t want to say that just yet, but it does feel fairly clear at the moment that these two have more in common in their past than either one of them realized. Diggle has a history potentially with the mysterious Shadowspire group back in Afghanistan, and this is the same group that Oliver was dealing with on the island.

Wednesday night’s new episode is going to feature many flashbacks around Diggle and Andy’s time overseas, and the possible connections are something that David Ramsey teases in a new interview with TV Guide:

“I think there’s still some story left to be told about that. I can’t say how long it’s going to take. I don’t know the full arc of the season, but the dots will get connected. There’s still a lot of story left to tell in terms of how that happens. What happens to Felicity is part of that, how that affects the team is part of that. So every single part of this affects our response to this mystical force that is Damien Dahrk, including Felicity’s physical trial right now.”

Ultimately, we anticipate this being a really interesting story to watch play out provided that all of the connections are real and substantial in some way. That’s been the big flaw in the flashback storylines both this season and in season 4: They haven’t always connected until near the end of the season, and that differs dramatically from how in season 2 it was very obvious that we were setting up Slade Wilson in the present as Deathstroke.
