‘Empire’ season 2 spoilers: Is there more to come with Jamal, Michael?

For everyone who loves “Empire,” we are certainly well aware of what an arduous wait it must be to get new episodes on the air once more. March 30 is still more than two months away … but we do still get a sense that the show executive producers are doing what they can to make it worth your while.

Take, for example, giving you more of the relationship between Jamal and Michael. While you may not have gotten to see too much of the characters together as of late, the latter will be resurfacing at some point soon. This is according to showrunner Ilene Chaiken, who said the following about it to TVLine:

“We will see Michael again … So far Michael has been the great love of Jamal’s life. And just because they hurt each other doesn’t mean they’re finished with each other.”

As for whether or not the Lyon family is going to have too much time to even deal with love in the near future, that remains to be seen. Just remember for a minute everything that they are up against, which includes having to do battle in order to get their own company back and also the impending feud between Jamal and Lucious that is set to come via some music-awards nominations. While Lucious may show at times some essence of pride in his son, does he really want to pass the metaphorical torch? We don’t think so, and seeing how Jamal reacts to this should be rather interesting.
