‘Reign’ season 3, episode 11 preview: Return date speculation for Adelaide Kane drama

Tonight marks the season 3 winter finale for “Reign,” and also what may be the last episode of the show for a rather lengthy period of time. The thought of this may be rather depressing to think about, but it doesn’t make it any less true. The CW is moving onto other things for a while, with the primary one being that both “The Vampire Diaries” and “The Originals” are going to be taking over the Friday timeslot for a matter of many weeks.

Unfortunately, for the time being it is unclear when the network wants to reign to the world of Mary, Catherine, Elizabeth, and many of the other familiar faces that constitute the show. Their schedule feels fairly locked-in through the remainder of the year, which is why we wonder whether or not you try something a little bit different: Move the show to the summer, where you there get a chance to pair it with something else in “Beauty and the Beast.” They would make a fun one-two punch to us.

Maybe if we’re lucky, the network will air some sort of promo at the end of tonight’s episode that really tees up when we could see more of the story, and also what could be coming up. The future of the show beyond this season is still in doubt, but we would be fine with a permanent move to the summer provided that it allowed the series to stay on the air for a little while longer.

Update: We got a clue after tonight’s episode that the show is returning this “spring,” but that could mean anything from April to May to even early June.
