‘Scorpion’ season 2: Penn Jillette to play therapist for Walter and Toby!
Who knew that counseling storylines were all the rage this year on CBS? “Hawaii Five-0” is coming off of an episode that saw Danny and McGarrett getting some therapy to fix their problems as partners, and moving forward on “Scorpion” this season, we’re going to see Walter and Toby have the same need. Specifically, this will be taking place during the February 8 episode entitled “Fractured.”
From this vantage point the idea of this sounds fantastic, mostly because these are two often-stubborn people with big personalities; listening to other people is not either of their strong suits. This is where we figure Penn Jillette comes into play. The Penn & Teller magician / comedian / master of many awesome things will appear as couples counselor, and while we know very little about his character’s personality, he definitely has the presence to put these two in their place if the arguments become petty.
As the CBS synopsis below indicates, the title for the episode has another meaning beyond just the state of Walter and Toby’s working relationship:
“After a powerful earthquake rocks Los Angeles, Team Scorpion must fix a pinched gas line to prevent a massive explosion.”
It’s not the most informative in the world, is it? Still, it’s the sort of mission the team is used to at this point: Trying to save the world in a tiny amount of time using their collective skill sets. Based on what we know about this show and so many others in the genre, here’s to thinking that whatever Walter and Toby learn through counseling will end up playing an integral role in making the crisis go away.
