‘Arrow’ season 4, episode 10 reaction: Did Oliver, Felicity break up?

There is so much to discuss when it comes to the “Arrow” winter premiere (more on that later tonight), but we wanted to enter this article focusing on one primary goal: Trying to figure out where the relationship with Oliver and Felicity is going. Unfortunately, things are not looking good.

While Felicity has managed to survive the shooting, the bad news is that in the flash-forward at the end of the episode, we saw her in a rather awkward limousine ride with Oliver … and she did not have on her engagement ring anymore. Something clearly happens to split the two parties up, at least for a small period of time, and that is something that the show could be exploring further over the weeks ahead.

In speaking more about that limo ride to TVLine, executive producer Wendy Mericle had the following to say:

“I definitely think there is some tension and we’re actually very intrigued to see if fans pick up on a very big clue about where they are at that point in their relationship. It’s in the scene, and it’s a visual clue.”

Obviously our hearts go out to Mericle and the show’s writers / producers today, given that we imagine there will be some backlash among diehard Oliver / Felicity ‘shippers over the move. To these people, we feel your pain. The only thing that we can say is that just because they are having problems at this time does not mean that it will be permanent. There’s always hope for things to turn around on this show.
