ABC’s ‘Castle’ season 8 to air Sunday episode in February
Are you feeling a little bit bummed out that you are now waiting until February 8 to see the winter premiere of “Castle,” especially since February 1 was announced as the initial date? If so, we have a little bit of news that may help to turn a frown at least slightly around.
Per TVLine, the show is going to follow up “Tone Death” on the 8th with a special episode on February 14 entitled “Witness for the Prosecution,” which is in turn going to air after a special episode of “The Bachelor” airing on the same night. This will be the installment that features the cast heading to the courtroom for the first time to look back over an old cases. For those who remember past seasons or events, this will be a little slice of nostalgia.
Following the airing of this episode, there will then be another installment coming on February 15 entitled “Dead Red.” Basically, you are getting three episodes in the span of eight days, even though there were a good three-plus months without a single one on the air. Isn’t this a nice way to change things up if there ever was one?
As for whether or not we think the show’s ratings would suffer with this move, it’s hard to say but it’s not like they really have that much to lose. It could benefit “Castle” in some way to air a new episode on a Sunday, just to show that it could work in other timeslots in the event the show decides that they want to renew the show and then move it.
