FX notes: ‘The Americans’ season 4 premiere date; ‘Louie’ season 6 uncertainty
For those of you who missed some of the news from the TCA Winter Press Tour courtesy of FX, we’re here with some of the all-important highlights!
“The Americans” season 4 premiere date – For those of you who really love the Keri Russell – Matthew Rhys series, know this: You’ll be getting it on the air soon enough. The show premieres on Wednesday, March 16, which is mostly interesting in that this is the latest that we’ve had a chance to see the show on the air. Is there any particular logic behind this move? We’re not sure that there is other than that maybe FX thinks that there will be a better chance for the show to get good live ratings later in the year. This is one of the most-proportionally-recorded shows out there, so it is worth it to try something a little bit different. It’s also a fan favorite.
The future of “Louie” – As for when Louis CK is going to return from his creative hiatus, the answer to that is effectively whenever he wants to. FX is interested in doing more in the future with the comedy, but he has some other endeavors he wants to take on and he is also producing some shows. It’s not even a certainty that the show is going to return with new episodes down the road, but we do at least have some hope that it will.
Check back soon; we’ll have some further news on both shows as we have them ourselves.
