‘Daredevil’ season 2 could lead to spin-off for Netflix starring The Punisher

Some of you out there may have predicted this news, but it is still fairly nice to hear: Following the second season of “Daredevil,” Netflix may explore creating a spin-off revolving around Jon Bernthal’s character of The Punisher.

This news comes courtesy of TVLine, and a series starring the character (who certainly has enough backstory to merit his own series) would be the sixth show that the streaming service would have from Marvel. They’ve already aired the first seasons of “Daredevil” and “Jessica Jones,” but also have coming up “Luke Cage,” “Iron Fist,” and then “The Defenders” featuring all four of these characters teaming up for various adventures.

Unfortunately, there is still one thing that we still have no answer to: Whether or not there is a second season of “Jessica Jones” coming up in the future. We know that this is one of the most popular series on Netflix, and there was a tremendous amount of critical acclaim. The biggest question that remains here is whether or not there is time to have some more new episodes of the show before “The Defenders” comes around … but we feel confident there could be, given that “Iron Fist” has not even cast their lead role just yet. That show will probably not be premiering this year.

The second season of “Daredevil” is going to be premiering on March 18, which means that there is only around two more months to go! Before that, we’re going to have some other scoop, teasers, and so much more. Stay tuned.
