‘War and Peace’ episode 3 preview: Natasha has her suspicions

War and Peace -

The third episode of “War and Peace” is premiering on BBC One Sunday night, and there will be quite a bit of ground to cover. For one, there is an upcoming duel coming between Pierre and a particular opponent in Dolokhov, and the sneak peek below focuses to a certain extent on not just some swordfight preparations, but also Natasha’s suspicions of the man.

As you can see, Natasha believes that Dolokhov is a less-than-kind person, and does her best to list some of the reasons for her concerns. Unfortunately, many of these concerns fall on deaf ears as Nikolai does not seem particularly interested in listening to her. This episode as a whole will be a big one for Natasha when it comes to her romantic life, but we do not want to say too much here in the event that there are some out there who have not read the iconic Leo Tolstoy work.

Will this be the episode that starts to set Britain ablaze, or will the show never receive that smash hit status? It’s still hard to say. We know that the show remains enormously popular with critics, but it has struggled at times when it comes to getting some of the support from the British public on the level of a “Call the Midwife” or a “Downton Abbey.” Then again, it may be a tougher sell thanks to the source material and also the setting.
