‘Once Upon a Time’ season 5 spoilers: Can Regina seek redemption in the Underworld?

For some characters on “Once Upon a Time” season 5, there may not be too big of an issue when it comes to them visiting the Underworld. For Regina Mills, however, this may be a little bit of a different situation. She is a woman who has been responsible for sending many people there in one form or another, and as a result of that we imagine that there will be many coming for her head … if they can take it. We’re not really sure what the rules of this place are when it comes to someone who is dead being able to hurt someone still alive.

The good news is that Regina doesn’t see the Underworld as an opportunity to revert back to her old ways in the slightest; instead, this is more of a chance for her to show that she has changed. Whether or not that actually works is an entirely different story, but here is what she had to say on the subject recently to Entertainment Weekly:

“She wants to confront these souls and these people that she has hurt, that she has killed … She’s on the right path, and she’s still on the path of redemption. She still wants to make amends with people and still trying to do the right thing. She’s really embracing the hero within her.”

By the time that we make it through a few episodes of this story, maybe we’ll see if any of these departed souls started to see something different in her. We imagine that given their experience surrounded by monsters at this point, they can be a rather perceptive bunch.
