Fox orders pilot for ’24: Legacy’; ‘Prison Break’ revival official
For all of you looking to get some further nostalgia when it comes to your favorite Fox programming, the network announced some news Friday at the TCA Winter Press Tour that is sure to make some of you out there happy.
Let’s start here with the future of a longtime favorite in “24.” The network has now confirmed that they have ordered a pilot for “24: Legacy,” a new series that is going to focus primarily on a military hero who, after coming home, could become intertwined with the CTU and dive into the same complicated universe that we saw for Jack Bauer so many years ago. There are no plans as of now for Kiefer Sutherland or any major character to appear; according to TVLine, the show is looking to cast an African-American lead.
As for another revival, Fox has also confirmed that the “Prison Break” revival is definitely happening, and there are talks going with Sarah Wayne Callies and Robert Knepper to both return to the show alongside Wentworth Miller and Dominic Purcell. While there are still many question marks out there surrounding how the series could continue, the aforementioned site also claims that the events of this series would take place before “The Final Break,” which featured the death of someone essential to the show. (In the event you haven’t seen it, we’ll leave that a mystery for now.)
Scheduling “Prison Break” should be interesting. Miller and Purcell have “Legends of Tomorrow” on their plate right now, while Callies is currently starring in the new USA series “Colony” alongside Josh Holloway.
