Adam Lambert joins Laverne Cox in Fox’s ‘Rocky Horror Picture Show’ remake

Fox -

Fox is rounding out its cast for the upcoming “Rocky Horror Picture Show” remake with even more entertaining people.

First, we had the news that “Orange is the New Black” star Laverne Cox was going to be playing the iconic role of Dr. Frank-N-Furter on the project. Then, we found out that Victoria Justice would be getting to venture very far from her “Victorious” past to play the part of Janet Weiss. Now, singer and former “American Idol” star / “Glee” actor Adam Lambert is returning to Fox to play the part of Eddie. Deadline was the first to report this news, and this role is even more iconic when you consider that it was none other than Meat Loaf who played the role in the original version of the film.

In a statement, Lambert had the following to say about the part:

“I grew up watching Rocky Horror, but could never imagine that I would be part of this new vision … Rocky Horror always made me feel like it was OK to celebrate my weirdness. Hallelujah, bless my soul!  I love that old time rock-n-roll!”

Lambert is coming off of a great year, grossing more earnings than any other “American Idol” alumni thanks to everything from his original music to also his efforts touring around the world with Queen. While he has not been featured as of yet on the final season of the Fox singing competition, he served as the guest judge for one city in season 14, and happened to be there to see the first performance of eventual champion Nick Fradiani.

For now, this new “Rocky Horror Picture Show” is slated to premiere later this year.
