With the season 2 premiere date of “Better Call Saul” on February 15 vastly approaching, AMC seems to now be in the mode of trying to come up with every innovative way possible to promote it. That includes giving you one of the best tastes of life behind the scenes of the show that we’ve seen to date.
If you look below, you can see stars Bob Odenkirk and Jonathan Banks talking about the series alongside executive producers Vince Gilligan and Peter Gould. The main theme here seems to be fairly similar across the board: Everyone likes Jimmy McGill, and nobody wants to see him become an evil guy. We’re not even sure we’d describe his eventual alter-ego of Saul Goodman as evil more so than just sleazy and despicable.
Because Saul is bad in his own way, we imagine the show is going to take as much time as possible with that transition. This season, we imagine that the relationship between Jimmy and Banks’ Mike is going to further progress, with the same thing being said for that between him and Kim Wexler. We obviously know that these two do not end up romantically together based on the events of “Breaking Bad,” but can someone like this guy really be in a stable relationship?
One other thing that will be fun to explore here is the feelings of Chuck McGill towards his brother, as there’s some serious jealousy going on there. Despite Chuck’s education and skills, he struggles with how popular his brother is with others.
