‘Law & Order: SVU’ season 17, episode 12 preview: Mariska Hargitay follows one key episode with another

Law & Order: SVU logoOn tonight’s new episode of “Law & Order: SVU,” you are seeing in “Townhouse Incident” one of the most emotional, powerful, and dangerous episodes you’ve seen in quite some time for the Olivia Benson character. For the sake of this article, what we are here to do right now is ask how they are possibly going to be able to follow that up. Ultimately, the answer seems to be by taking on something completely different, but also something in “A Misunderstanding” that is also much more familiar and traditional to longtime fans of the show. It also happens to be directed by none other than Mariska Hargitay.

If you haven’t seen the short synopsis for this episode (short as it may be); take a look below for more:

“A murky he-said, she-said date rape case ruins the futures of two high school students. Directed by Mariska Hargitay.”

It’s hard to speak on this episode too much right now without some more context, but we are glad to see Hargitay continuing to step into the director’s chair on a regular effort. For any TV actor, doing this is an impressive feat. For someone who commands the majority of the airtime most weeks on the show, it’s even more worthy of commendation.

We’ll have some more news on “SVU” as it starts to come out … specifically in the form of a promo. Be on the lookout! Update: We’ve got that for you now below! It’s not the most revealing in the world, but it has at least some scoop.
