ABC’s ‘Castle’ season 8 spoilers: Stana Katic’s Beckett mentors a cadet!
There’s been a good bit of “Castle” scoop as of late when it comes to major stories revolving around Rick, so with that in mind, why not spend a minute or two now discussing some further matters when it comes to Beckett?
According to a new report from TVLine, Stana Katic’s character is going to get a chance to mentor a young cadet in the 15th episode of the season. Ellen Woglom is set to play the character, who will be at the same academy that Kate previously graduated from with flying covers so many years ago. This should at least give us a few fun scenes; fun is something that Beckett in particular needs a little bit more of following some of the hard things she went through over the course of the first part of the season.
Meanwhile, the site reports that Nick E. Tarabay of “Spartacus” fame is going to be appearing on the show in the role of Vasily Zhirov, a Russian agent who comes to work on an investigation. Here is what co-showrunner Alexi Hawley reportedly had to say on the subject:
“We get a little Red Heat action … We have a diplomatic security agent from Russia who comes, because there is the death of a Russian national. He’s a big character.”
We’ve seen some other quirky investigator characters come on “Castle” in the past, and we have to hope for now that this story is going to continue that trend. Fingers crossed for some fun!

Meanwhile Alexis – the one Beckett should be mentoring – is being mentored by a disgraced cop without any ethics. Great. More proof that these showrunners are clueless about this show.

Well, given that they will probably still be doing the stupid “fake separation” thing by episode 15 so what? Why not have a fake divorce?

Aa long as Beckett is captain , you can forget them working on sight cases. The alternative that’s been overlooked is having then work the murder board together.Supposedly the Loksat investigation will end around ep 18. Which makes me wonder what they have planned for the conclusion of the series..
Maybe the writers finally noticed the ratings .

If they keep the fake separation going until Loksat is wrapped up there won’t be any uptick in the ratings.

I doibt there’ll be any difference in the ratings. What you see now is it, I’m afraid fans have moved on. They went from live to dvr to checking out completely. What you have are the very hard core invested who will watch to the biter end. Not a bright out look.

yeah, not really interested. Want Castle and Beckett mentoring together, doing anything together, not separately Just not fun now. Season 8 is awful.

A Beckett centered episode after a Castle centered episode is not what people want. What they have wanted since the beginning of the season is Beckett working on screen with Castle to solve crimes. Foreplay is the crime solving process for Castle and Beckett. It’s been that way for the past 7 seasons. Obviously no one involved with writing season 8 has ever watched the show or they would have seen that.

Get all of the old issues out of the way quickly and spend plenty of time in the last 5 or 6 episodes on “roots” cases of the week. “Root” cases of the week would bring me back more certainly than solving LokSat in the finale. Plus you will have the knowledge of whether “root” cases will work in a season 9.
