‘Game of Thrones’ season 6 spoilers: Check out Emilia Clarke’s epic tease

With “Game of Thrones,” it is often either “go big or go home.” This statement also apparently applies to the way in which the show is promoted. How else do you explain some of the latest comments via Emilia Clarke?

Speaking in an interview with E! News while at the Golden Globes afterparty over the weekend sponsored by HBO, the actress claimed that the upcoming sixth season will contain “the biggest moments on television that have ever existed.” If that’s not a big statement, what is?

If this was almost any other show out there, we’d be almost immediately concerned with someone making these sort of statements. You run the risk of building up the hype so high that eventually it crashes down, leaving almost everyone disappointed in the process. This is a show that at least rest assured that it has a sterling reputation so far, and as a result of that it has earned itself a little bit of credibility that it can back up these claims.

Also, we know the show has the capacity to do so for many reasons, from the quality of the scripts to the enormous budget to this being the first season that is ahead of the George R.R. Martin books across many storylines. There are going to be a wide array of opportunities for the show to surprise viewers, and that is something that we have to assume that HBO is looking forward to … even if readers of The Winds of Winter are a little bit bummed-out about it.
