‘Legends of Tomorrow,’ ‘The 100’ season 3 premieres to run slightly long

LegendsFor those of you who are planning ahead to next week’s TV lineup, here’s some news to be aware of in advance: Both “Legends of Tomorrow” and “The 100” are going to run a little bit long on Thursday, January 21.

The biggest reason why has to do primarily with the former, which is going to be running almost three minutes long. The series premiere of “Legends” will conclude at around 9:03 p.m. Eastern time (technically a few seconds before then), while “The 100’s” season 3 premiere will run a couple of minutes past 10:00. The good news here is that this is further proof that “The 100” is not getting shortened or hurt in any capacity by the Brandon Routh series. Hopefully, both are going to premiere to big numbers.

We know that The CW certainly has faith in both of these series to be successful. They’ve given “Legends of Tomorrow” the timeslot that previously belonged to none other than “The Vampire Diaries,” which was undoubtedly one of the biggest shows that they had for many years. That show is now over on Friday nights starting on January 29. “The 100” is a fan favorite, and while its ratings are not enormous, they have been fairly consistent and there is a devoted following waiting to see what happens next on the show. This is a show that really needs to get off to a great start to secure itself a fourth season; The CW is starting to get very competitive, especially with their low-rated series like “Jane the Virgin” and “Crazy Ex Girlfriend” giving them critical acclaim.

We’ll have some further insight on both series moving into the future; stay tuned!
