‘Better Call Saul’ season 2: Aaron Paul still open to Jesse Pinkman return

Better Call Saul season 2The second season of “Better Call Saul” is going to premiere on AMC come February 15, and there are still many people from the “Breaking Bad” universe that have yet to make an appearance … including Walter White and Jesse. We know that there is a perfect reason why, at least in that creators Vince Gilligan and Peter Gould do not want to force these characters onto the show to soon. This is Jimmy McGill’s journey first and foremost, and making it feel too much like “Breaking Bad 2.0” would be a disservice to it.

With this said, Aaron Paul is still making it more than clear that if the opportunity arises, he would be thrilled to get to go play Jesse again. Speaking per Variety at the TCA Winter Press Tour (where he is promoting his new Hulu series “The Path”), the actor passed along the following message about his aspiration to be more involved in some way moving into the future:

“Hopefully I will be involved. But I don’t know when that may be. I’m not going to say anything more. But I’m absolutely open to the idea. Hopefully it happens. I’m all about it. … We’ve been talking about it even before they started shooting the show. He asked if I would be open to it, and I said of course. ‘Anything you’re involved with, you don’t even have to send me the material. I’ll just say yes. I owe you my career.’ I have a career because of that man. I would do anything he asked me to do.”

Our feeling is that this sort of appearance would be perfect for maybe the third or fourth season of the show, or maybe even a flash-forward if Jesse somehow makes it out of Albuquerque without being arrested. It just seems too soon for it to happen now.
