‘Criminal Minds’ season 11, episode 11: Aubrey Plaza talks ‘Entropy’ guest spot
You may not have seen much of Reid on “Criminal Minds” the past several episodes, but that is going to change moving into Wednesday night’s new episode. “Entropy” is going to feature Matthew Gray Gubler prominently throughout, in addition to someone else you’ve heard a little bit about here and there: Aubrey Plaza. The “Parks and Recreation” alum is playing a very different character than she’s used to in Cat Adams, a blind date gone horrible wrong who seems to want to test Reid in very dangerous ways.
So how did she end up on the show? Speaking to TVLine, Plaza reveals that her friendship with Gubler is one of the big reasons the stars metaphorically aligned:
“Matthew and I are friends and he sent me the script and said, ‘I know this sounds crazy, but this is a really special episode and it involves my character and… would you read it?’ So I read the script and it’s basically a 65-page psychological thriller. To be totally honest, I haven’t watched much of the show. I just thought playing that role would be really fun. There aren’t many opportunities for me to play a psychopath that has planted a bomb in a restaurant and who’s holding a gun under a table trying to kill an FBI agent. That’s some juicy stuff. I don’t care what show it’s on.”
Given the description of her character it is hard to see Plaza being able to make many return appearances, so if nothing else let’s just hope that this is a particular memorable (and in some ways scary) one-episode appearance. We just want it to be entertaining!
