TV Quick Hits: ‘One Day at a Time’ remake; ‘The 100’ season 3, ‘Elementary’ season 4 news
Just in case you don’t have enough TV nostalgia in your life at the moment, we now bring you this: Netflix is diving back into “One Day at a Time.”
Netflix has announced that they are bringing back a new version of the Norman Lear sitcom, which ran on CBS during the 1970’s and 80’s. Lear is still on board as an executive producer, but our understanding here is that unlike “Fuller House,” this is going to be a simple remake rather than a continuation of the original series starring Mackenzie Phillips and Valerie Bertinelli. Given that some of the other cast members (Pat Harrington and Bonnie Franklin) are no longer with us, that may have been a part of the decision to go simply with a new version. Another reason may simply be that the new series will revolve around a Cuban-American family.
