‘The 100’ season 3 spoilers: Is the show ending soon?
There are many big events coming up on The CW later this month, but the season premiere “The 100” is going to be coming up on January 21 is one that many people in particular have circled on their calendar. There’s a lot to look forward here from start to finish!
Of course, reporters don’t often like to focus on the now so much at the TCA Winter Press Tour so much as they do the future. With that, there were already questions aplenty surrounding the future of the science fiction series at the event. In addressing critics, executive producer Jason Rothernberg said (per Entertainment Weekly) that he does already have an ending in mind:
“I know where I want the show to end … I know what I want the final story to be, and where I want these people to end up at the end. I don’t know how long that’s going to take. I’m not going to say I want to do the show for as long as I can do it. I want do the show for as long as it’s interesting to me and where we’re creatively not repeating ourselves.”
With this in mind, Rotherberg also made it clear that there is not necessarily any time in which he wants the show to end; he can implement the idea as early as next season, or several down the road. Ultimately we feel like the timing will depend heavily on what the network wants to do, and also what his own feelings are about the story at that time in particular.

Would I be surprised if the show ended? Absolutely not. What I would be surprised at is the lack of vision by the writers and the creator of the show to make a show that could last a long time. Isn’t that the goal? To create something that is not only entertaining, but lasts a long time and makes money? Did the network tell everyone to get all their ideas out within a certain number of episodes? I thought the ratings for this show were decent.
