‘Galavant’ season 2, episodes 3 and 4 preview: Does King Richard have a new love interest?

Who knew that Richard would have a second chance at love on “Galavant” this season?

At some point over the course of the third and fourth episodes of season 2 this Sunday (watch it instead of the Golden Globes! It’s funnier), we shall see Richard and his glorious beard run into someone who could fill the massive void that is in his heart that has not been filled by anyone so far, whether it be Madalena (who was really just interested in power anyway) or that unicorn from episode 2. This leads to the Galavant-led musical number that you can see below, entitled “Maybe You Won’t Die Alone.”

We don’t want to give everything away here in the event that you haven’t watched the video below reading this, but it is a classic “Galavant” number that leads you down one path, only to swerve you in a different direction with some funny twists. We’ve been really impressed that the musical numbers so far have actually been on par with the first season; if you look at other musicals, some of the quality of the numbers tend to go down over time as more and more ideas are used up.

As for whether or not this all really works out for the one-time King (who likely still considers himself King), we know that he certainly has the capacity to care for and love other people. The one problem that he faces is that we’re not sure he has any clue how to do it. He’s going to need a lot of coaching to be placed in the right direction.
