It’s already pretty clear on “Teen Wolf” season 5 who some of the primarily villains are, with the Beast, the Dread Doctors, and at times Theo being pretty high on the list. However, should Parrish also be on there? Even though we know more about him being a hellhound now, that doesn’t mean that we’re altogether sure where to classify him.
Based on what showrunner Jeff Davis said on the subject to Entertainment Weekly, though, that is kind of the point. He’s not necessarily a definite adversary of Scott McCall and company, but at the same time he is not afraid to get mixed up with his pack in the event that they get in his way:
“He’s sort of still on the moral fence … He’s got a job to do and you don’t want to get in his way. And one or two times, Scott and his friends get in his way, so it’s not necessarily a good thing for them.”
Ultimately, this seems to be a part of the fun that comes with having Parrish around. It’s nice from time to time to have a character who you don’t quite know where they stand on everything, and it creates a little bit of a wild-card scenario. There may also be plenty of times in which he is willing to help out Scott and company, just because that makes sense for his particular mission. This may be his focus much more so than anything else.
