‘Law & Order: SVU’ season 17 spoilers: Could a Carisi – Rollins romance happen?

Is this the season of love on “Law & Order: SVU” season 17? It is a question that clearly the show has no problem in raising when you look at what they are offering across the board. It’s possible that we could see such a story for Olivia Benson in the future, and we may now have the beginnings of something for Rollins and Carisi. There was a moment on Wednesday’s episode after Rollins go through her difficult birth that showed the two of them in an interesting light, and that is something that the show may be exploring moving forward.

Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter, executive producer Warren Leight had the following to say about the relationship between the two:

“Something was going on with Rollins that she had not felt before … Rollins has had one point of view on Carisi for a long time, like the annoying younger brother point of view, and I thought I saw something really interesting in that moment. I’m curious to see where it goes.”

What we do like about this idea is that this is clearly not something that was set up the moment that Carisi was brought onto the show. We much prefer such a move when it comes about as a result of real chemistry, and something that the writers want to try out after seeing the actors together on the screen. Who knows if it will work out? It’s hard to say, but this is going to be something worth watching over the course of the rest of the season.
