‘Teen Wolf’ season 5, episode 11 reaction: Tyler Posey on the true villains

Scott -

Based on what we saw during the season 5B premiere of “Teen Wolf” on MTV Tuesday night, Scott McCall’s in a rather miserable situation. He’s been fighting with Scott, Theo is out there, and to make matters worse, you’ve got the Beast out there causing problems. There are even some other smaller threats that need to be worried about. It’s a busy, dangerous season, and hopefully our resident hero is there to take all of them on.

But who is the real threat? Tyler Posey did a postmortem for the winter premiere to TVLine, and in it, he explained just how the Beast is going to be the one that is front and center in the minds of many moving forward:

“The main enemy is definitely the Beast. It’s been cool because we had all of 5A to build the anticipation for this Beast of Gévaudan character. The Dread Doctors had been teasing it, trying to make a success, and they finally did. The Beast is, by far, the scariest antagonist of the season. The Dread Doctors and Theo are still threats, but they’re more in the shadows. Parrish is also kind of a nemesis; you’ll find out his connection to the Beast, and we don’t really know whether he’s good or bad. There’s also that band of chimeras, but Scott really isn’t intimidated by them, and neither is his pack.”

Ultimately, we do think that it would benefit the show to find some focus and establish a clear adversary by the time we make it to the final five or six episodes of the season. At the moment, there is so much going on that it makes some matters a little more muddled and confusing for some out there. However, at the same time we very much appreciate that the show is giving Scott so much danger; we worry about, but he’s one of the few characters on the show we have faith in when it comes to turning out alive.
