‘Gotham’ season 2 spoilers: First look at Paul Reubens as Oswald’s father!

It has been quite a while now ever since it was revealed that Paul Reubens would be coming on to “Gotham” for a guest spot. Yet, we are starting to get the sense (finally) that his appearance is coming in the near future.

Show executive producer Danny Cannon was kind enough to post on Twitter the photo below of Robin Lord Taylor alongside the legendary Reubens as the character of Oswald Cobblepot’s father. He is someone we have not heard too much about on the show just yet, but Oswald may be somewhat in need of a new parental figure in his life given what he just went through following the death of his mother at the hands of Theo Galavan.

Oswald’s journey moving forward is certainly set to be a difficult one, especially when you consider just how far he fell over the course of the first half of the second season. He started off in a position of great power, but it became clear not too long after that he was perhaps too impulsive and he hadn’t learned all of his lessons yet. With Galavan gone, the city is missing its latest criminal mastermind … but there are other potential threats out there ready to take up that title. Victor Fries could end up being one of them, given that the teaser at the end of the fall finale suggested that he is on his way and ready to cause carnage.
