‘American Idol’ premiere video: Alexandra Sasser performs Bruno Mars hit

Can you believe that in just one day, the final season of “American Idol” will be here? It is in so many ways hard to fathom, but the reality is that it’s almost here! There is that extra weight surrounding the auditions this time, given that there will not be another season for them to go back to in the future.

The video below is one of many individual auditions that we’re going to be posting, and it features none other than Alexandra Sasser, a worship leader from Georgia who is apparently auditioning with her husband Jordan. She’s definitely got a wholesome vibe to her, and you get a sense of her lighthearted personality during her performance of Bruno Mars’ “Count On Me.”

Talent-wise, she’s a solid singer, and the judges seem to love that she’s got a young family and she seems to be inherently likable. What we wonder is whether or not there is that edge of darkness or another gear to her. Can she show a more vulnerable side? If she makes it far enough in the competition, we presume that we will find out.

If Alex and her husband get a golden ticket, they’ll still have a ways to go before making it to the live shows. While the final season has been shortened and will end in April, that doesn’t mean that we are going to see the series do away with Hollywood Week or anything else in the middle of the competition.
