We should start this “Bachelor” article off with a warning: Jimmy Kimmel is, somehow, a sage when it comes to predicting who is going to go far on “The Bachelor.” Therefore, even if you’re worried about possibly getting spoiled, we would suggest that you stop reading now.
Anyhow, Kimmel had Ben Higgins on his show last to play his incredibly-uncomfortable game of trying to guess who the final four would be, which led to him proceeding to hold up various women while Ben squirmed around, trying not to confirm or deny anything. We think he did a pretty good job! Kimmel claimed that all of his opinions came courtesy of his wife, but it’s hard to say whether or not that is the truth.
As to why in the world ABC continues to let Kimmel and his crazy track record of predicting winners do this, it’s simple: They are not afraid of spoilers. They showed that last night when they were doing fan polls during “Bachelor Live.” For as much as we may hear about them online, online a small percentage of an audience is ultimately spoiled. Most people don’t care, since they watch the show but aren’t passionate enough to go and look things up about it online.
We’re also glad that Kimmel is there as the odd late-night ambassador of the “Bachelor” franchise, mostly because he has such a snarky and funny take on it. He tows the company line, but still finds ways to poke at the show within that.
