‘The Bachelor’ spoilers: Can Olivia Caridi, Lauren Bushnell, Becca Tilley build momentum with Ben Higgins?

Olivia -Tonight marked the big premiere of “The Bachelor” on ABC, and what a night it is! You’ve got plenty of drunken antics, a mini-horse, someone wearing a unicorn mask, and a variety of other shenanigans that really round things out as a heck of a fun night.

After the dust settles, there is still more to come, and the question you should ask yourself is if there is such a thing as momentum this early. Sure, Shawn Booth had it on Kaitlyn Bristowe’s season, but that doesn’t happen all of the time! Catherine Giudici, for example, was rather quiet on Sean Lowe’s first night, and if you look back at Desiree Hartsock’s we’re not sure Chris stood out too much. (It’s either that or we just don’t remember that far back.)

As of right now, we’d say that Olivia Caridi, Caila Quinn, and Lauren Bushnell have all made some very good night 1 impressions on Ben Higgins, and now they have to move forward to the next step: Seeing if they can sustain it. We’re not going to tell you any spoilers here (we never will), but newcomers to the franchise should be aware of the upcoming format.

1. We’ll stay in Los Angeles most likely for the next couple of episodes, or at least in the area.

2. From there, we will probably venture to at least one other major city / region in America.

3. Our feeling is that this season will be more international than Chris Soules’ was, so expect a few tropical locales along the way.

4. There will be hometown dates, and we figure that we’re going back to the typical four rather than whatever-it-was that happened last time. That just seemed to be a little bit of a fluke.

In the end, Ben Higgins will choose someone, and hopefully it will make for a thoroughly entertaining / maddening season. We’ll have more preview analysis later, and be sure to check back later this week for our official podcast!
