‘Daredevil’ season 2 premiere date reportedly revealed!

While over the weekend there were the beginnings of whispers that “Daredevil” season 2 would be premiering a little earlier than its predecessor in the year, it’s nice to hear that a specific date is being circled … even if it is one that seems to be made primarily to troll the heck out of DC fans.

Per ComicBook.com, the second season will be arriving on Netflix in March; specifically, we’re talking about the 25th. That is specifically the same premiere date as “Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice,” which we have to assume is not a coincidence. Clearly someone at Marvel / Netflix thinks this could be a fun competition, but we ultimately don’t think it will impact either one very much. Someone could finish “Daredevil” in a day or two and still go see the movie over the course of the weekend, or they could choose to go see the movie first before they begin the binge.

If this date remains the case, the one thing that we would be concerned about is whether or not “Daredevil” will be able to recruit many new fans while competing for publicity against one of the biggest superhero movies we’ve seen since “The Avengers.” You know that this movie’s going to have an enormous publicity campaign, with some out there hoping that it could dominate the box office really from the time of its release until “Captain America: Civil War” comes out and kicks off officially the summer movie season.

Regardless of when it premieres, there are many things to look forward to on “Daredevil” season 2. Jon Bernthal is coming aboard as The Punisher, and we are getting a little bit closer to the much-anticipated “The Defenders,” which is going to bring this show together with “Jessica Jones,” “Luke Cage,” and “Iron Fist.”

Sadly, there’s still no more news on a “Jessica Jones” season 2; we really hope that this happens.
