While “Call the Midwife” season 5 may not be premiering on BBC One until January 17, you don’t have to wait any longer to see the new trailer!
The video below should feel very familiar to longtime viewers of the series, even if there is some new footage in here. Much of it is bright and cheery (in contrast at times to the show itself), and it also seems intent on playing as much music from the era as possible that somehow also feels appropriate for midwives. Helen George, Charlotte Ritchie, and many other cast members make appearances. You’ve even got everyone gathered at the dinner table at one point!
For the most part, the story for the new season is still under wraps, but we hope that things for Patsy in particular are better attended to after we saw her still struggling recently with Delia’s condition. The great news is that she is still alive, but the unfortunate news is that she is not yet in a position where she can comfortably and easily travel. There is some work still to be done there.
Hopefully, at some point soon the network will at least release some more news for the premiere episode, which we’re sure that they have some high expectations for. It is hard to believe anything otherwise when you remember that a sixth season has already been ordered, which will begin airing with a Christmas Special once more at the end of the year.
