It’s been a while since “Rizzoli & Isles” season 6A came to a close, so with that in mind, allow us to present to you a quick refresher on what happened. Jane went all out in an effort to ensure that her latest adversary did not go after Angela, only for them instead to target someone else she cares about very much: Maura.
Given the title of the show and the fact that it has already been renewed by TNT for a season 7, it feels fairly safe to assume that Sasha Alexander’s character makes it out of her predicament alive. However, executive producer Jan Nash cautions in a new interview with TV Guide that trying to piece together this mystery is not something that Jane will be able to accomplish in a short period of time:
“There’s a mysterious element to it. It takes a while to figure out what’s going on. When they do figure out what’s going on, it’ll take a while to catch the perpetrator … We want to give her a meaningful nemesis in addition to these [standalone episodes].”
It’s always good for the sake of drama to have an adversary, and we appreciate that the show is making some bold moves here. We’re optimistic that Jane will emerge on the other side of the chaos, but one chaos still remains: What will she have lost in the midst of the battle? Is Maura in danger the only thing that she is going to have to contend with? Time will tell…
