Kathy Griffin spray-tans Anderson Cooper during CNN’s New Year’s Eve

While the majority of the CNN – New Year’s Eve broadcast is stuffed full of hilarity (Don Lemon trying to throw beads at people in New Orleans, a giant Hershey kiss in Pennsylvania), we still knew that there would be at least one moment that people would be talking about for the next couple of weeks.

Now, we know just what that particular moment is: Kathy Griffin choosing to spray-tan Anderson Cooper’s face after he complained about being pale. This was her follow-up to putting red and blue hair dye on him last year, or handcuffing the two together like she did a couple of years ago. Somehow, she finds a way to ensure that she doesn’t do anything too terrible to him until near the end of the show, and we’re not sure we would have the patience for that in her shoes.

Overall, we cannot give enough praise to this show as a form of entertainment. They really bring out the best in each other. Kathy is best when she has a foil who is the complete opposite of her in many ways, and she helps Anderson to loosen up a little bit. There are some more polished productions out there, but we almost love that there is so little of a script here. It is weird, wacky, and just downright fun.

Now, we have to figure out a way in order to ensure that Kathy and Anderson get a chance to host as many different holiday specials as possible.
