Fox News’ coverage of New Year’s Eve includes Donald Trump interview

Fox NewsWhile we’ve covered some of the go-to destinations for you across network TV in many of our New Year’s Eve articles today, there is still one notable event (at least for some of you out there) taking place within the cable world.

Starting at 10:00 p.m. Eastern time, Fox News is going to air a special entitled “All-American New Year” (which they have done in the past) to celebrate everything as they see fit. While we’re going to Anderson Cooper and Kathy Griffin on CNN for our comedy, we figure that this is where you want to be for political discourse on December 31, at least if you are keeping track of the Republican side of things. The ever-controversial Donald Trump will be doing an interview, while Carly Fiorina and Ben Carson are going to be making some sort of appearance as well.

One of the co-hosts for the occasion is Kimberly Guilfoyle of “The Five,” who said the following in setting up this event to TV Guide:

“I’m super-excited to be co-hosting with Eric Bolling, who’s also my co-host on The Five. We have great rapport and chemistry together. I know we’re both looking forward to ringing in the New Year with Donald Trump. We’re thrilled that he’s chosen Fox as the exclusive to do the New Year’s Eve special with. We’re really excited. He’ll be joining us from Mar-a-Lago [Trump’s estate in Palm Beach, Fla.]. It’s going to be a great way to start off 2016. I’ve been part of the New Year’s Eve special before, but this is gonna be my first year officially co-hosting. It’s going to be fun.”

While we certainly know that Fox News is polarizing, the irony here is still that it will probably draw better ratings than many of the other specials out there beyond “New Year’s Rockin’ Eve.”
