New Year’s Eve: Live stream Times Square celebration, ball drop here!

We know that there are many outlets out there to watch New Year’s Eve celebrations at this point, in between “New Year’s Rockin’ Eve” over on ABC and the fantastic festivity featuring Anderson Cooper and Kathy Griffin over on CNN. However, if neither one of those are your cup of tea and you just want something streaming on your computer throughout the evening, we have something for you now!

If you look below, you can see the official live stream of the Times Square festivities, which will include some performances, “Imagine,” and of course the iconic ball drop at the stroke of midnight. This can be viewed from almost anywhere in the world (no rights issues), and is also commercial-free.

Every year, it is estimated that over a million people all flock to the New York area for this celebration, which is typically chaotic. While there are often many great things that come from it, we imagine that there are many challenges, whether it be transit, finding a restroom, or even paying for a place to eat when there are places that charge an arm and a leg just to enter.

We’re not going to be covering the events of the stream too much (typically some of the crazier moments happen during some of the TV broadcasts), but we did want to at least offer this up as some sort of an alternative to some of the things that are out there. Maybe you just really hate commercials or the way some of the live shows are put together.
