‘Agent Carter’ season 2: New synopsis for Hayley Atwell’s return!

There are quite a few things that viewers have to be excited about in 2015, but we certainly feel that for many, the return of “Agent Carter” to ABC is going to be at the top of the list. It’s a chance to see more adventures featuring Hayley Atwell’s title character, who is ushering in a new era of awesome for Marvel that will eventually set the stage for some of the story in “Agents of SHIELD.”

The show will be officially premiering on the network come Tuesday, January 19, but you don’t have to wait that long to get some further details! You can see some of that right now below courtesy of a SpoilerTV synopsis (you can go to the site to read even more):

“Dedicated to the fight against new Atomic Age threats in the wake of World War II, Agent Carter journeys from New York City to Los Angeles for her most dangerous – and bizarre – assignment yet. East Coast SSR Chief Jack Thompson (Chad Michael Murray) sends Peggy to work with newly appointed West Coast SSR Chief Daniel Sousa (Enver Gjokaj) to explore a strange homicide involving a body that glows and emanates cold … Upon her arrival, Peggy reunites with Howard Stark’s (Dominic Cooper) butler and her loyal partner-in-crime, Edwin Jarvis (James D’Arcy), who welcomes her to the Hollywood life and sets her up at Stark’s mansion. There, Peggy meets Ana (Lotte Verbeek), Jarvis’ free-spirited and devoted wife to whom she takes an immediate liking.”

This is more or less just the setup for the new season, which certainly sounds promising from many angles. You’ve got a fantastic new mystery at the start of the season, a new setting, a chance to see some new characters come into play. Verbeek is a particularly exciting addition, given that she brought some great drama to her appearance on “Outlander” and could certainly do more of that here.
